Busan, Korea – December 11, 2015 The Miewon Orphanage Christmas Party was hosted by MSC Office Korea. MSCO-K has “adopted” the orphanage for the past 40+ years. USNS VADM K.R. WHEELER and USNS CHARLTON crews combined to donate over $2200 worth of gifts to the orphans. In the picture are various officers and crew form both ships as well as most of the 32 orphans who attended the party. They are holding many of the gifts the ships’ crews bought for them, including three flat screen TVs and a gaming system. This is WHEELER’s third year supporting Miewon Orphanage. In addition, the United Seaman’s Service presented the WHEELER with an “Excellence In Service” award for all of the voluntary work the WHEELER crew did assisting the Pier 8 Seaman’s Club when it opened at its new location.
