Jeff Dixon, a senior executive with nearly 30 years of diverse maritime experience, was named President of TOTE Services in January 2019. As President, Dixon leads a team that oversees a fleet of twenty-seven vessels and eight hundred mariners, including the world’s first LNG-fueled containerships, the nation’s first LNG bunkering barge, and numerous Military Sealift Command (MSC) and U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) vessels operating around the world.
Under Dixon’s leadership, TOTE Services converted TOTE’s Orca Class roll-on, roll-off ships to dual-fuel (diesel-LNG) capability through an innovative program completed in 2023. In 2019, TOTE Services was awarded a $1.5B Five-ship contract by MARAD to manage the construction of a new class of vessel, the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NSMV), to provide world-class training for America’s future mariners. Prior to being named President, Dixon was Vice President of the TOTE Services Government and Commercial portfolio. Before joining TOTE Services, Dixon capped a 27-year active-duty career with the U.S. Coast Guard, serving as Commander, Sector Jacksonville. Dixon serves on both the National Cargo Bureau and United Seaman’s Services Board of Directors and as a Trustee for the Coast Guard Foundation.
He is a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Economics and a Master’s in Public Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Jeff and his wife, Julie, reside in Jacksonville, FL. And have three children.
A veteran within TOTE Services and its parent company, Saltchuk, Mr. Christian has led the development and delivery of the Marlin class vessels, the world’s first LNG-powered container vessels built to support the Puerto Rico trade, and LNG conversion plans for the Orca vessels, a critical transportation provider supporting Alaskans.
Now at the forefront of the Nation’s quest to deliver a new class of U.S. maritime academy training vessels, the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel (NMSV) is using a first of its kind Vessel Construction Manager. Christian was appointed Vice President of Business Development in 2022 and is responsible for charting the company’s path forward and providing unmatched customer service.
Ben is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, and the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business MBA program in Seattle, WA. His background includes sailing as a deck officer, as a Senior Financial Analyst, Project Manager, Vice President of Marine Services and Operations.
JP Marcantonio joined the TOTE Services team in 2019 and currently serves as Vice President for Marine Operations in Jacksonville, Florida. He oversees the ship management of vessels serving the Military Sealift Command (MSC) and the world’s first LNG-powered containerships, the Marlin Class vessels serving the Puerto Rico trade. JP was responsible for the formation of the LNG Operations Team for North America’s first LNG Bunker Barge, CLEAN JACKSONVILLE, which has expanded to include management of the LNG bunker ATB Clean Everglades.
Prior to joining the TOTE Services team, JP served as a transportation officer in the United States Army. He also worked at TOTE’s sister company in the Saltchuk family of companies, Foss Maritime, for over 13 years, directing multiple operations for Foss, including harbor services, bunker barging, offshore mooring support, regional towing, and the JP also served as Foss’s Designated Person Ashore and was responsible for establishing the programs and culture that drove Foss towards Goal Zero (zero lost time injuries and zero spills to water).
JP graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, with dual degrees in Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering and earned his MBA from the University of Washington.
Phil Morrell brings 43 years of practical Marine Industry experience and leadership in multiple areas, including shipbuilding, ship repair, technical management, and terminal management in both the US flag Jones Act and international shipping sectors. Phil has extensive industry experience building, converting, and drydocking vessels worldwide.
Phil joined TOTE Services in 2002 and has held various roles, including Marine Superintendent and VP of Marine and Terminal Operations, which had oversite Tacoma and Anchorage terminal operations, together with TOTE’s Alaska and Puerto Rico vessel operations. Currently, Phil serves as Vice President Marine Operations for TOTE Services and is directly responsible for overall cost, schedule, and vessel management for TOTE Alaska’s Orca class vessels.
In addition to his day-to-day core business responsibilities, Phil just successfully completed his role as overall Project Manager, driving cost, schedule budget, and technical oversite for the Orca class dual fuel (LNG) conversion. Phil’s a graduate of the University of Oregon and serves on The Washington State Board of Pilotage, the Board of Directors of the Washington State Emergency Rescue Tug Vessel (ERTV), the Board of Directors of the Washington State Maritime Cooperative (WSMC), and the Board of Directors of the Chadux Network.
Pete joined TOTE Services, LLC, in 2021 as the VP of Marine Services in Jacksonville, FL, with responsibility for labor relations, supply chain services, regulatory compliance, and the management of vessels for the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD).
Pete has over 35 years of maritime operations experience, spanning a wide range of responsibilities for the management of vessel and terminal operations, maintenance and equipment control, and multi-modal transportation and logistics operations. He has worked for private and publicly held domestic and international vessel operators, which has exposed him to a diverse range of compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Pete graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee.
Tanya Mauro is the Business Unit Controller of TOTE Services. Appointed to this role in 2022, Mauro leads all aspects of TOTE Service’s financial strategy, performance, reporting and long-range business planning, as well as controller and audit operations.
Mauro brings a wealth of executive leadership to the TOTE Services team, previously serving as CFO of Jax Dirtworks, Inc, a civil underground contractor, CFO of Habitat for Humanity in Jacksonville Florida, and CFO of Foundation Financial Group, a private mortgage banking company with operations in seventeen states as well as various other finance positions throughout her career.
Mauro is a Navy veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a graduate of Jacksonville University with a degree in Business Administration. Tanya is very active in the philanthropic community and served on a nonprofit board of the Oceanway Tsunamis for 12 years, has been active in the DAV Chapter 1 in Jacksonville, FL. and is active and supports multiple charities including Catholic Charities St. Augustine, Boy and Girl Scouts of America, Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, and St. Jude.
Eunice Cadorette Young is a 2001 Graduate from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Eunice began her sailing career as a licensed deck officer and sailed on various classes of vessel throughout her almost 9 years afloat. Between sailing assignments, Eunice worked for an environmental emergency response company where she created oil spill contingency plans and participated in numerous drills and tabletop exercises.
In 2008, Eunice came ashore after sailing two years onboard the SBX-1, a RADAR platform managed by TOTE Services on behalf of the US Government and worked as a Port Captain For TOTE Services providing shoreside support to ensure the safe operation of numerous vessels within the TOTE Services managed fleet. In 2018, Eunice was promoted to Director of Ship Management for a few years and then transitioned from vessel operations to her current position of Director of Labor Relations in early 2022.
Dan joined TOTE Services in 2022 as Director of Human Resources (HR) and is responsible for both shore-side and fleet-wide HR, including the Marine Personnel Team. He has over 25 years of experience in personnel management. Prior to joining TOTE, Dan led HR and people relations for one of 3M Company’s largest manufacturing facilities. Additionally, he has held roles in government consulting, business partnerships, labor relations, and safety.
Dan is a U.S. Navy veteran who served on active duty for over 20 years as both an enlisted Sailor and as an officer. He spent many years at sea onboard multiple vessel classes, qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer, Officer of the Deck (Underway), Battle Watch Captain, and graduated from the Maritime Staff Officers course.
Dan holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in Workforce Education and Training Development and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and Development (Sustainable Leadership) from Fielding Graduate School.
