Next, the Patriot State was delivered in September 2024 for Massachusetts Maritime Academy then the State of Maine for Maine Maritime Academy, Lone Star State for Texas A&M University Maritime Academy and the final national security vessel of this class, the Golden State, will be delivered for California State Maritime Academy between 2025 and 2027 respectively.

Training the Next Generation of U.S. Mariners

Each NSMV provides a premier maritime learning environment at sea for state maritime academies that graduate over half of the nation’s new merchant marine officers each year. The vessels have extensive instructional spaces, a fully equipped training bridge, and accommodations for up to 600 cadets.

Critical Assets for Emergency Response

The NSMV ships are fully equipped to support national security and emergency response. Their design allows for rapid deployment, flexible cargo handling, and the transport of critical supplies and personnel.
